Theara Thun
Born and raised in Cambodia, Dr. Theara Thun is currently a research fellow at the University of Hong Kong through the Research Grants Council Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. He is also a recipient of the 2024–25 Lee Kong Chian NUS-Stanford Distinguished Fellowship on Southeast Asia. Before moving to Hong Kong, Dr. Thun was a Program-specific Assistant Professor at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University.

「たんけん動画　地域研究へようこそ」は、京都大学東南アジア地域研究研究所が配信する研究紹介動画シリーズです。所員のフィールド活動や研究内容を広く公開し、最新の地域研究とそれに取り組む研究者の姿を紹介することを目的とします。

このほど刊行された『Epistemology of the Past: Texts, History and Intellectuals of Cambodia, 1855–1970』（University of Hawai’i Press, 2024.）について、2024年6月26日に京都にて著者のテラ・トゥン氏にインタビューを行いました。

テラ・トゥン氏はカンボジア出身の歴史研究者。現在、香港大学研究員、リー・コン・チアン シンガポール国立大学（NUS）–スタンフォード大学東南アジア研究特別研究員（2024–25年度）。京都大学東南アジア地域研究研究所特定研究員（2019–2022年）。
