In the backyard of the school, there are stones referred to locally as Ingili Buri (finger) Ziyaarat. The name reflects the traditional account of a severed finger that had washed up on the shore near a large banyan tree. Upon being found, it was interred on the site, which came to be regarded as a shrine. The preservation of this site is, however, currently threatened.
