The island of Huraa in Kaafu Atoll was the home of Sultan Ghazi Hasan Izz al-Din, whose commissioned the construction of a mosque on this site in 1753. While the original structure on this site has been since been replaced, the Dhonbandaara Miskiiy compound includes a large number of older coral gravestones, bisthaan (burial enclosures), and a ziyaarat (mausoleum shrine).
